Habitat Restoration Projects in the Lower Columbia River

In the last 10 years, over 100 partners have protected or restored over 16,000 acres of habitat in the lower Columbia River. This work has encompassed a wide range of restoration techniques including: land acquisition, flow barrier removal or improvement, riparian plantings, invasive species removal, dike breaching, wood debris placement, and others. Hundreds of stakeholders have participated in these projects, working together to accomplish the common goal of environmental restoration.

The Estuary Partnership has directly funded a number of restoration projects throughout the lower Columbia.  In addition to its own projects, the Partnership attempts to maintain an inventory of restoration work completed by other restoration partners throughout the region. Updates to this inventory are still in progress, however the Partnership to date has compiled information on a significant amount of existing projects.  If you have information pertaining to restoration projects in the Lower Columbia  that is not included here, we would be interested in adding it to our inventory. Please contact marcoe@lcrep.org with any information you might have to contribute.  For additional information regarding habitat restoration in the Columbia River, click here.
